This freakishly ADORABLE fellow is Mugsey.  Mugsey's owners purchased a Raindog gift certificate in support of Powerful Schools and we had such a beautiful day for our shoot!  Mugsey is a superstar in disguise - he's never had his portrait taken in this way before, but somehow he knew exactly how and where I wanted him to sit and where to look.  He was up for anything! 

What do you name a chocolately little puppy, born in Seattle and as sweet as candy?  Theo, of course!  We had our shoot on a beautiful Sunday morning a stone's throw from the infamous Theo Chocolate factory in Fremont.  The sun was shining and we timed our shoot at Gasworks Park just right, before the crowds arrived to sun-worship.  Theo was a blast - curious, sweet, funny and on the move constantly!

Gigi and Bruno are very close buddies that are about to be separated by a LOT of miles!  Their owners are good friends, one of whom recently moved to Hawaii.  Bruno's been staying at Gigi's house until his home in Hawaii is ready for him and they seem to have gotten very close.  Gigi and her people will certainly miss Bruno horribly when he's gone home, but in the meantime, we got some pretty cute photos of them to celebrate their time together.

I just realized that I've been forgetting to post blog entries about my "regular", non-shelter shoots lately!  I have no excuse except that between shoots and pet sitting/dog walking duties, I've had quite the crazy schedule this year!  It's good to be so busy, but obviously things slide at the most hectic times.  I'll catch up on a couple and try to keep things updated as I go!

This super cute girl is Tasha.  To me she looks like a husky/border collie/who knows what mix.  She was very shy for the first few minutes of our shoot and I had to sort of hang around with my camera out for a while before pointing it at her and clicking away.  After she realized that we were mostly going to be playing and getting treats, she decided to tolerate me and my clicky thing and turned on the star power!  I was worried at first, but she ended up being (and having) a great time!

This GORGEOUS girl is Shelby, CityStream's Pet of the Week at the Seattle Animal Shelter.  I've probably said this before, but Shelby would likely have come home with me today if I didn't have a girl-dog-intolerant girl dog at home.  She is just the COOLEST.  She's about 7 years old and is as sweet and gentle as they come.  She likes to play, knows several commands, is calm and collected and was putting up with kisses and hugs from me 5 minutes into our shoot.  She would be equally happy taking a hike or run with you, or sitting peacefully at your side in the grass at the park.  She's got fabulous bat ears and wants very much to have a family and a safe, loving home to call her own.  Stop in at the shelter to meet her - I promise you will fall instantly in love like I did!

Hi!  This week's CityStream Pet of the Week at the Seattle Animal Shelter is Marty!  Marty is a dashing and sweet fellow who REALLY likes to hang out and watch the world go by.  He's about 6 years old, affectionate and cute, and ready to go home with his new family!  Stop by the shelter to meet Marty and do a little hanging out.

This cross-eyed cutie is Elliot and he's this week's CityStream Pet of the Week at the Seattle Animal Shelter!  Elliot is a wonderful, affectionate guy who will start purring loudly for you almost immediately.  He's about 2 years old, a seal-point Siamese and just the sweetest creature.  Elliot is FIV+, which means that he needs to be an indoors-only cat, but he's healthy and happy and has the potential to live a long, glorious life.  FIV is transmitted by blood only, so Elliot could fit into a home with existing cats unless there's bad fighting (which doesn't seem likely since he's such an easygoing fellow).  FIV is not transmittable to dogs or humans, so no worries there.  He's patiently waiting at the shelter for his new family to come and get him - stop by and see if you can resist his charms! 

Hi!  This beautiful girl is Lulu, a boxer mix at the Seattle Animal Shelter!  Lulu is this week's CityStream Pet of the Week, and WOW, she is a sweetheart with a capital S!  Lulu is an adult, though she seems fairly young, and has a funky right leg which doesn't slow her down one little bit.  She's as sweet as they come and was putting up with lots of lovin' and kisses from me 5 minutes into our shoot!  She looks like serious business but she loves to play and will make any active person a wonderful partner.  Stop down at the Seattle Animal Shelter and give Lulu a few kisses of your own!

Oh Queenie, you are so sweet!  Why are you homeless?!?  Queenie here was a challenge to photograph today because the yard was full of good smells, the sun was shining and my treats were not awesome enough to hold her attention for more than a split second.  I didn't get a lot of info on Queenie, but obviously she is a senior dog.  She's as nice as can be - she let me and her buddy at the shelter pick her up with zero complaints.  She is all wagging tail and smiles and would love to share her last years with someone who can take care of her and give her the TLC that she deserves.  Queenie is this week's Pet of the Week on the Seattle Channel's CityStream, and is available for adoption at the Seattle Animal Shelter.

This handsome devil is Pow, this week's CityStream Pet of the Week!  Pow is really, really laid back and relaxed, preferring to chill out on his cat tree most of the time.  He is sweet and affectionate and would love to come home with you (provided that you have a perch for him to survey his kingdom from)!  He's an adult cat, not sure of his exact age, and as you can see, he's quite the looker with his luxurious white coat and pretty green eyes.  Stop by the Seattle Animal Shelter and see if Pow is a good match for your family!
